Kym Stokes is Queensland Ballet Academy Foundation Program Coordinator and Academy Teacher.

 

Kym is Rehearsal Director for Ballet Theatre of Queensland.

Qualifications

 

The beginning

​

 

I trained at the National Theatre Ballet School under Gailene Stock and Gary Norman.

 

I was then accepted in to The Australian Ballet School and AB Dancers Company and graduated with Advanced Diploma in Dance. 

 

Soon after graduating I danced  with Queensland Ballet Company under the directorship of Harold Collins. I performed in seasons of Romeo & Juliet,Carmen, Scheherazade &Alice. 

​

I then changed paths slightly and learnt the art form of Adagio and went on to have a lustrous career performing my Adagio Act all over the world, one special highlight was preforming our Adagio act for Miami City Ballet in a special gala evening of dance.

 

With my husband we also developed aerial acts and performed as a specialty act with Companies such as Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Costa as well as in featured shows at Jupiters/Star Casino and performed Corporate events in Australian and overseas.

​

Currently at Queensland Ballet Academy as Foundation Program Coordinator and Academy teacher.
