





Kym Stokes is a dedicated arts and entertainment professional with a diverse range of experience, encompassing performance, choreography, teaching, and arts management.
She currently serves as the Foundation Program Coordinator and an Academy Teacher at the Queensland Ballet Academy, nurturing young dancers in their foundational training. In this role, Kym has collaborated closely with the Queensland Ballet Company, skillfully staging the children's roles in their 2023 and 2024 Nutcracker seasons at QPAC. Her experience in directing and managing rehearsals and productions, coupled with her deep understanding of dance pedagogy, makes her a valuable asset to both the Academy and the Queensland Ballet.

Kym has made significant contributions to the arts community beyond her work at the Academy. Since 2019, she has served as the Rehearsal Director for Ballet Theatre of Queensland (BTQ), showcasing her leadership and organizational skills. In 2024, BTQ recognized her talents by promoting her to include Company Manager responsibilities, where she played a crucial role in staging various productions. Her dedication and expertise continue to elevate the quality of performances at BTQ.

Kym has collaborated with an impressive roster of 80 dancers, featuring renowned Guest Artists. This dynamic experience is complemented by a 20-piece Orchestra and a choir, creating a captivating blend of talent and artistry.







Kym Stokes's dance journey began with training at the prestigious National Theatre Ballet School under the tutelage of Gailene Stock and Gary Norman. She was subsequently accepted into The Australian Ballet School and its AB Dancers Company, graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Dance.
Following her graduation, Kym joined the Queensland Ballet Company under the directorship of Harold Collins, where she performed in seasons of Romeo & Juliet, Carmen, Scheherazade, and Alice.
Transitioning to a new artistic focus,
Kym honed her skills in adagio, embarking on a successful international career. A particular highlight was performing her adagio act for Miami City Ballet during a special gala evening of dance.
Kym and her husband also developed and performed aerial acts as a specialty act for prominent companies such as Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Costa Cruises. They were also featured performers at Jupiters/Star Casino and have entertained at corporate events both in Australia and internationally.
